These turnkey seaweed cultivation plants are the result of the European research project AT~SEA, advanced textiles for open sea biomass cultivation, (FP7 - 2012-2015) in which Centexbel developed, in collaboration and consultation with both industrial and research partners, an advanced coated textile suited for the growth of seaweed in a controlled, efficient and very productive way, yielding far lager crops than what was possible until today. Moreover, the system has been designed to harvest in a very simple and easy way. Read the full press release of 8-6-2015 that Centexbel distributed on the occasion of the AT~SEA closing event.
